Why I'm Raising intraKIDs

When I was in Chiropractic College, my oldest daughter used to suffer from asthma and allergies.  She would wheeze, get hives, stutter and she had difficulty controlling her bladder sometimes.  In school I learned that in some cases allergies can improved by using probiotics.  Yes probiotics sound like the opposite of antibiotics and in many ways they are.  Antibiotics are used to kill bacteria.  Probiotics are used to get bacteria into your body.  Our intestinal tracts normally contain a variety of bacteria which breakdown the foods we eat so the nutrients can pass into the bloodstream.  When foods can’t be broken down by these bacteria the body reacts by mounting an immune response to that food.

The plan was clear but the complication was that she was just 2 years old.  For a child her age pills would be a choking hazard so I needed to find a liquid probiotic.  I searched and searched for a good, high quality probiotic and I came across a product by Drucker Labs called: intraKID.

The results were quick and drastic.  Bladder control improved first.  Asthma all but disappeared and we never had to use her inhalers, hives and stuttering eventually went away as well.  It didn’t take long before we decided that our other daughter should start taking the vitamins too.  The next logical step was to get the adult version of the vitamin: intraMAX.

Now that I have my own practice, intraKID is the only multivitamin I recommend for kids.  The flavor is really good.  My kids wake up every morning and the first thing they want is their vitamins.  This is not just a piece of candy pretending to be a vitamin, only providing the bare minimum in nutrition.  IntraKID is specially formulated for helping your child achieve optimal health not just survival.

The average child will get between 6-10 colds per year.  Since starting intraKID my children have about 2 per year.  I’m telling you that if you really care about your kid’s health you don’t want to settle for anything less than this.

You won’t find Drucker Labs products in stores.  They are only available through your doctor.  If you would like to find out more about the ultimate children’s vitamin supplement feel free to contact me personally (541) 753-1287 or [email protected]  Usually we have a sample in the clinic but these vitamins are really popular and so we run out fast.

Can I give this to my 17 month old? On the bottle it says for children 2+. Perhaps I could just reduce the dosage?
    Thanks!

    Rebecca,

I have started my two younger children on IntraKIDS before age 2. We started at about 10 months. Until Age 2 I just give them 1 Tbsp each morning. Kids this young are typically getting most if not all the nutrition they need from breast milk or formula. However once these nutrient sources are removed from the diet them some type of vitamin supplementation is a good idea and I can’t find a better supplement than IntraKIDs.

    Hello Dr Young,

Shouly my 6 year old boy use IntraKIDS or intraMAX?
    Please advise. Thanks!

A six year old would be fine to take either supplement. My six year-old takes IntraKID unless we accidentally run out. If this happens then it is ok for a child to take a half dose of IntraMAX. For some people this is more convenient to just get the IntraMAX and then do a full dose for the adults and a half dose for the kids.

    Dear young,
I am a mother of triplets that were born at 26 weeks. Lots of health issues, head bleeds, development issues, asthma, chronic lung, and behavior problems. We have also always struggled with weight. We are currently on a high calorie intake. I have already ordered intrakid to try, but i am so scared to give it to them since it’s not FDA approved. I cant find any lawsuits etc online. Please help me, i am so worried to give to already special needs triplets.

    Thanks!

    Stephanie,

You need to work with your doctor on this. IntraKID is an excellent supplement but without knowing the specifics of your children’s health and situation I can’t make a good specific recommendation. Infants, especially premature babies, have specific needs when it comes to nutrition. When it comes to IntraKID I typically don’t start a child on that supplement until they are 12 months old and then it is only at a 1/2 dose until they are 18-24 months.

I hope that helps. Congrats and God Bless with the triplets!

I have a 2 yr old daughter who is in good health. I’ve started her on Intrakid, She has been getting 1/2 tsp twice a day. Is this enough? What do you recommend?
    Thank you!!

I was wondering what the ingredients are?

Sorry to take so long responding!  Yes… 1/2 of an ounce is a good amount for a child that age.  I give my 2 year old who is also in good health 1/2 ounce in the mornings and this works just great.

Thank you for your professional recommendation with regard to this miracle vitamin. My 9 year old son was always sick with something and would not take ANY vitamin on a consistent basis. He’s a very picky eater too, and he’s super strong willed and it wasn’t a battle I chose to fight. I wasted a lot of money trying all kinds of vitamins, the chews, the gummies, the liquids, etc. Finally, a Christian man who I highly respect, recommended this vitamin. After doing some research, I decided to purchase one month’s worth because it sounded like such a wonderful product! I didn’t hold much hope that he’d like it. From day one, he loved it and every day since, (1/2 year now) he takes it with NO COMPLAINTS. He loves it. SInce he’s been on the program, he’s only had ONE SHORT LIVED cold. He realizes too, that he’s feeling better and staying well. Friends and school mates have been sick and out for sometimes a week at a time, and he has stayed well all during the holiday season. This is a miracle! I too decided to take it and haven’t been sick since. It’s not a replacement for good nutrition, but it’s “insurance” we say. It’s expensive but it’s worth it, because it’s that extra insurance for our health. I’m so grateful for this product. I’m a life long believer and will sacrifice in other areas to continue to have this wonderful vitamin.

Thanks for sharing this Sherry!  I’m so glad to hear that you and your son have been reaping the benefits of simple good nutrition.  Although you mentioned that the price tag is high on the vitamins I’m sure that in reality they save you a fortune.  You save on sick days, purchasing individual bottles of all the supplements in IntraMAX and IntraKID, medical and prescription bills, and the most valuable thing… your quality of life.

I just started my 3 year old on intrakid today. She is healthy but a picky eater so I wanted to make sure she gets a good supplement. I was happy to see all the informative comments posted here especially Sherry’s. 🙂
I do have a question: my bottle says: 4 years and up. And I read here that some bottles say 2 years and up? I also have a 16 month old that I wanted to start giving 1/2 dose daily. Are there 2 types of Intrakid? 4 years & up and 2 years & up?

Good question. I haven’t noticed different age listing on labels. I do use IntraKID for children under 2 though. I start after 1 year old in some cases. You should work with a health care provider if that’s how young you want to start. I will start with a 1/2 oz serving divided into 2 doses (1/4 oz each). Again, consult with the doctor you got the IntraKID from.

Hi my daughter is healthy. She is 21.5lbs and 28 inches long. She is only 9 months. I make her formula and supplement with a childrens liquid vitamin. I use the baby plex brand. If I’m going to give her a vitamin supplement I would much rather give her the IntraKID! I didn’t have to get it from a doctor and was just able to order it online. Do you think it would be ok to start it or should I wait until after she is 1? Thank you so much!

    Hi Tara,

You should have gotten your IntraKID from a doctor.  Drucker Labs only sells the vitamins to health care professionals so that they can provide support for the patients who take it.  I know that there is a Doc on Amazon.com who has been selling it and Drucker Labs is currently (from what I’ve heard) in a legal battle with him to try to get him to stop.  If this is where you got it then it’s important that you understand that this Doctor has a responsibility to provide you support you need with using this supplement.  I think it’s always better to get it from somebody who you have consulted with directly to find out how to correctly use the product and receive support.

All that being said I of course think that IntraKID is a great brand of vitamin to give your daughter.  Since I haven’t ever consulted with you or examined your daughter before I can’t really make a recommendation but I can tell you what I have done with my own children.  My kids have started on a 1/2 oz dose from 1 years old on.  My youngest is now 2 1/2 and we are giving him a full ounce of IntraKID 6 days a week and he is doing just fine with that.

I hope that helps!  Again…. I really recommend that you get in touch with the doctor who sold you the IntraKID online for support.  If you can’t get in touch with that doctor or it wasn’t sold by a doctor please contact Drucker Labs and let them know.

Thank you so much for your reply! There are several websites, Amazon, evital health, earthturns, and ultimatevitality, just to name the ones I came across that are selling the IntraKID vitamins. I hope I didn’t buy something that isn’t actually the IntraKID supplement. I will ask my chiropracter if she knows a doctor that sells the supplement. I would feel better purchasing it from one though I’m not sure I’ll be able to find one locally. Again thank you for your reply!

My 2 year old hates the taste and spits it out. Any advice on how to get her to take it? I’ve heard that you are not to mix it with anything but purified water. Is this true?

  18. Jason Young, DC

Wow I have never heard of a child not liking the IntraKID flavor!  Are you sure you’re using IntraKID (red bottle) and not one of the other products?  That’s right that you shouldn’t mix it with anything except for spring water.  What you might try is seeing if your child would like the flavor of IntraMIN better. The have a Tropical Fruit Flavor which is great.  There is also an “unflavored” one that I personally think tastes terrible :P.  The only drawback with the IntraMIN instead of the IntraKID is that you are only getting the mineral portion of the supplement.  The good news is that it is still a fantastic product.  I use IntraMAX and IntraMIN every day.  I take the IntraMAX in the morning and IntraMIN in the afternoon when I need a little energy boost.  It’s safe for kids too because it is the same formula as IntraKID minus some of the ingredients and with different flavors.

    I hope that helps!
